The Carolinas are filled with the sweetest stunning, natural sites, and there’s no shortage of sunflower fields. You can find sunflower fields in several counties during the summer months. York county has a hidden gem that I’m sharing as I have loved making photos in this secret field. I say ‘secret’ because although it’s public, it hasn’t become a well known crowded site just yet.

This huge sunflower field is tucked away in the Draper Wildlife area located in McConnells.

Sunflower fields truly make some of the most special backdrops for photos!

Fun fact: its location is considered historic Brattonsville, as the area is where the movie, ‘The Patriot’ with Mel Gibson was filmed! Just a short walk through the nature trail, and you empty out into acres of golden sunflowers! Here’s a compilation of sweet sunflower sessions from the past in this beautiful field
