Miles and Mayra were high school sweethearts who became life long bffs and got married this past Spring. Their friendship dates all the way back to the 9th grade as they had gym class with one another, and today these two are just perfect together. They make one gorgeous couple, and I love how casual and laid back they are! Miles and Mayra were wed in North Carolina at Rolling Hill Farms wedding venue. It was a great spot that fit the mix of both their personalities. Their goal was to be married in the sunny outdoors and have their families enjoy a fun, yet relaxed indoor reception. It was beautiful to see their families together, celebrating with two different cultures. Being that Mayra’s family is Mexican, they did a modern version of the famous traditional dance to “La Vibora De La Mar” during the reception. This made for loads of fun and shouting as guests cleared the dance floor to make room. The men and women separated the bride and groom by securing each one to a chair. Miles and Mayra made an arch with her long veil, and guests orchestrated a ‘snake’ with their bodies in unison to pass through and around the couple. As the ‘snake’ grew and weaved in and out, the ladies won the first round as Mayra did not fall lol! The guys won next and jolted Miles into the air. In my years of photographing weddings, I definitely enjoy Latina wedding receptions!
One of my favorite things about this day was the couple’s ‘first look’ with one another. It was precious and so romantic. Next, the clouds rolled in, and we even had a heavy rain shower pass by to bring the couple ‘good luck’, as they say on wedding days. I also love how they had their wedding invitation details printed in both Spanish and English for their guests. After some dancing, they were up for catching the sun before it set in a gorgeous yellow field of flowers by the venue. I’ll tell you, the pollen count was high that day, but so was their love! The entire Hernandez/Miller wedding day was simply lovely.
Another fun fact is that this couple shares their super special date with me and my husband as they were married on April 26th too!! The highlight of documenting this day was that I got to travel and work alongside my husband. This was on a fun Friday, so after we tasted the cake and finished, we enjoyed the rest of the weekend together for our anniversary too <3 We are blessed
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Miller!
