I had the pleasure of styling and capturing this fun shoot this past March! It’s a romantic ‘ode to Spring’, filled with florals, blue macaroons, and charming pops of color. I wanted to showcase a simple, romantic elopement that featured shades of Pantone’s color of the year, ‘living coral’. We also paired distinctive color shades of periwinkle blue. The beautiful colors definitely make me think of happy couples in love during Spring time. There’s a modern Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty vibe within the details — and what bride doesn’t want to feel like a princess on her wedding day?
Originally, we wanted an enchanting woodland ceremony outside, but the huge down pour of constant rain had us switch to plan B. Instead, we moved everything inside and put our talents together in the lovely, white washed bridal suite at Carolina Country Weddings. Mother nature spoke loudly, and let’s be honest, on wedding days, more times than none, brides deal with things not going 100% as planned. I’m so grateful for such talented wedding vendors that can make beauty happen anywhere. Our venue offers a variety of style, from romantic, to rustic, elegant, classic, organic, or just casual. We brought the outdoors inside by filling the room with flowers. I think it’s safe to say that flowers make everything better! This is a statement of simplicity to show brides that they can have a lovely, effortless ceremony by just adding flowers. We had an abundance of lush pink and blush bulbs, protruding coral poppies, and the truest shades of periwinkle blues.
The bride’s exquisite dress from Meagan Kelly Designs exuded grace and charm with its whimsical 3D floral design. The groom had a matching ivory bow tie with a floral pattern itself. Actually, the couple Elle and Jordan are artists themselves. He’s a tattoo artist, and she owns a bakery. You’ll see his work on her arms if you notice the whisk and rolling pin. She made our blue drip cake and fresh butter cream macaroons. We even had a semi hand made wedding invitation suite on vintage, hand torn deckled edge paper. I was inspired to put my own talents to work. I used a script font called ‘Steeleplate Script’ from an online company called Design Cuts to digitally type and print off our invitations. I also had fun painting our invitation suite with deckled edges in rose gold. I certainly have more admiration for calligraphers and wedding suite designers now!
Speaking of savvy, our glittering Jessica Simpson Style heels were a discounted steal from Ross clothing store. This just proves that brides can find and add elegance from many places. Our hair and make up artist, Danyell created a sweet braided hairstyle adorned with periwinkle butterflies from UK artist, Flutter Designs. Heather, with the Whimsical Rose pulled the prettiest pinks, golds, and coral variations for our table scape and shimmering glassware. This romantic styled elopement just has me falling in love with Spring even more. We enjoyed this, and I hope you do too.
