Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina has become one of the most visited places in the downtown area of the city over the last few years. There is one aged site with a large tree who’s roots are completely exposed, grown into the side of an embankment at the park. I recently learned that this tree has a name, and having asked around a while back, many in the area had no idea of its name.

This is called the Medusa tree in Falls Park, and boy are there neat spots nearby for photos.

Back in 2021 I had the pleasure of meeting Roxy and Lee, a cute couple who currently make entertaining social media content. These social media influencers reached out wanting to recreate some of their wedding day photos, and I was happy to oblige. We made some fun, romantic photos together around the Medusa tree area downtown Greenville and finished up at the rock quarry nearby. Even our sweet pup, Lumiere got to tag along! Roxy wore a wedding dress from Madison Carolina Bridal Boutique, and we had a colorful bouquet created by Heirloom Floral.

What a sweet time…

A big tip for visiting Falls Park:

• Go on a week day if you can as the weekend crowd surge is quite big, especially closer to holidays
• Go either first thing in the morning for nice soft lighting, or the evening before and during sunset
• Get free parking currently behind the Mellow Mushroom parking lot, and consider yourself a winner!
